Ahmad Hakimi

Damansara, KL · Mechanical Service

"I brought in my grandfather's automatic — a piece I'd been nervous about entrusting anywhere. The intake process was thorough and reassuring. The written assessment arrived the same day, with photographs. Four weeks later it came back running within a couple of seconds a day. The process felt collaborative rather than impersonal."

Lim Chee Wai

Petaling Jaya · Pusher Service

"The pusher on my chronograph had become unreliable — the feel was different on one side. Ratna Wira identified the issue clearly from the first examination. The pressure test result was shared with me after reassembly, which I appreciated. I'd been offered a cheaper option elsewhere but I'm glad I waited for this."

Siti Rahimah

Bangsar, KL · Long-Form Programme

"My father's vintage dress watch — one I'd inherited and had worn perhaps twice for fear of damaging it — went through the Long-Form Programme. The photographic record alone was worth the wait. Every decision about what to leave unchanged and what needed attention was explained and agreed before the work proceeded. It now lives on my wrist as it was intended to."

Rajendran Nair

Subang Jaya · Mechanical Service

"A solid experience. The watch — a German automatic from the seventies — hadn't been serviced in over a decade. Communication was consistent throughout and I wasn't kept wondering. One part was flagged mid-service; I was contacted, the cost explained, and work waited until I confirmed. That kind of conduct matters."

Tan Kim Hock

Cheras, KL · Pusher Service

"Crown had developed a slight wobble and I was concerned about the stem. The Ratna Wira team walked me through what they found during intake and set out the options clearly. The repair was completed within two and a half weeks and pressure-tested. I've noticed no recurrence of the wobble in the three months since."

Nabilah Farouk

Mont Kiara, KL · Long-Form Programme

"The Long-Form Programme timeline of fourteen weeks was longer than I expected, but the work justified it. The photographic record documenting each stage arrived progressively — something I hadn't expected and found genuinely useful. The case came back with its original character intact. I am glad nothing was polished uniformly."

Case Studies

Three Watches, Three Journeys

The Situation

1960s Swiss dress watch, uninherited service history

A client brought in a vintage Swiss manual-wind dress watch acquired at estate. No service records. Movement running approximately 4 minutes fast per day. Case showing old moisture ingress marks on the dial.

The Work

Full Long-Form Programme. During disassembly, the mainspring was found to be fatigued. Period-correct replacement sourced and fitted after owner approval. Dial moisture marks assessed — original patina preserved, no restoration applied. Case conserved without polishing. Timeline: 16 weeks.

The Outcome

Movement now running within 15 seconds per day across positions. Original dial character maintained. Case shows appropriate wear for its age without deterioration. Client received a full photographic record and written documentation of all decisions made.

The Situation

Collector's chronograph, pusher degradation

A Klang Valley collector brought in a Swiss chronograph from the 1980s. One pusher had developed an inconsistent feel and the crown showed threading wear. The client's concern was both functional and, given the piece's value, water-resistance integrity.

The Work

Pusher Service. Both pushers examined — only one required component renewal, which was confirmed before proceeding. All gaskets in the crown and pusher assembly renewed. Pressure tested to the watch's rated specification following reassembly.

The Outcome

Both pushers now operating with consistent action. Water-resistance integrity confirmed by pressure test — result documented and provided to client. Total service time: 18 working days. Cost remained within the original estimate as no additional components were needed.

The Situation

Japanese automatic, overdue standard service

A daily-worn Japanese automatic brought in after approximately eight years without service. Running but erratic — sometimes keeping good time, sometimes losing 30–40 seconds daily. Owner unsure whether the issue was servicing or a more significant fault.

The Work

Mechanical Service. Disassembly revealed degraded lubrication throughout and a worn pallet stone on one fork. Component replaced and full ultrasonic cleaning completed. Reassembled and regulated across five positions. Observed over six days due to initial inconsistency in dial-up rate.

The Outcome

Movement settled to within 8 seconds per day by the end of the observation period. Erratic behaviour traced entirely to worn pallet stone — no fundamental calibre issue. Owner was advised on an appropriate service interval for regular daily wear in KL's climate.
