Three Services, One Approach
Each service at Ratna Wira begins with a written assessment and personal discussion. The scope, timeline, and cost are agreed before any work proceeds.

How We Work, Across Every Service
Whatever service you engage, the method beneath it is consistent: systematic, documented, and unhurried. The specific steps vary by service type — the standards do not.
Written Intake & Consultation
Every piece enters with a written assessment — observed condition, photographs, and a discussion of your concerns. Nothing proceeds before this is done and shared with you.
Disassembly & Magnified Inspection
Components are separated and examined individually under magnification. Wear, damage, and tolerance issues are identified and documented before any cleaning or replacement begins.
Staged Ultrasonic Cleaning
Parts pass through multiple ultrasonic cleaning stages with appropriate solutions for each component type. Dried and inspected again before reassembly begins.
Reassembly & Lubrication
The movement is reassembled with lubrication selected to the calibre's specification — each contact surface treated with the correct viscosity. No universal lubricant approach.
Regulation & Observation
The movement is regulated across multiple positions and then observed over several days. Adjustments are made as the lubricants settle and performance stabilises.
Final Review & Return
Before collection, rate and amplitude are checked. Where applicable, pressure testing is completed. The service record is prepared and returned with the watch.
Service One
Mechanical Service
A traditional service approach for mechanical and automatic calibres, suitable for both daily-worn references and pieces returning to regular use. The work begins with a written intake assessment, photographs of the watch's current state, and consultation with the owner about specific concerns. The movement is fully disassembled, with each component cleaned through staged ultrasonic processes, inspected under magnification, and reassembled with carefully selected lubrication on each contact surface. Mainsprings, pivot ends, and pallet stones are evaluated and renewed where wear has progressed beyond operating tolerance. Following reassembly, the movement is regulated across multiple positions and observed over several days.
- Full movement disassembly and ultrasonic cleaning
- Component inspection under magnification
- Mainspring, pivot, and pallet stone assessment
- Multi-position regulation
- Several-day post-assembly observation period

Service Two
Pusher Service
A focused service for chronograph pushers and crown assemblies that have suffered wear, impact damage, or sealing degradation. The work begins with examination of pusher action, crown threading, stem engagement, and gasket condition. Damaged or worn components are replaced with correctly specified parts. All sealing gaskets in the assembly are renewed during the service. Following reassembly, the watch is subjected to pressure testing to verify water resistance integrity. Particularly suited for chronograph references where pusher action has become less precise.
- Pusher action, crown threading, and stem engagement examined
- Worn or damaged components replaced to specification
- All sealing gaskets renewed throughout the assembly
- Pressure testing following reassembly
- Test results documented and discussed with owner

Service Three
Long-Form Service Programme
An extended programme designed for watches of considered importance — vintage references, family pieces, and timepieces forming part of a long-term collection. The programme combines full movement service, case and bracelet attention with conservation in mind, gasket renewal and pressure testing, dial and hands review, and where appropriate, sourcing of period-correct replacement components. The owner is consulted throughout, with key decisions documented in writing. A photographic record covers each major stage. Timelines typically run from twelve to eighteen weeks.
- Full movement service as standard
- Case and bracelet conservation (not polishing)
- Dial and hands review and careful cleaning
- Period-correct replacement components sourced where needed
- Written decisions and stage-by-stage photographic record

Best for
Mechanical Service
Daily wearers and working watches where the movement needs a proper service and re-regulation. The standard choice for most mechanical calibres.
Best for
Pusher Service
Chronograph references where pusher feel has deteriorated, or any watch where crown action, threading, or water resistance is the primary concern.
Best for
Long-Form Programme
Vintage references, family heirlooms, and collection pieces where complete documentation, conservation, and careful sourcing of appropriate parts are needed.
Across All Services
Shared Standards
Secure Custody
Every watch in our care is stored under controlled access. No piece leaves the premises without the registered owner's authorisation.
Written Consent Before Additional Work
Any work or component replacement beyond the agreed scope requires your approval. We stop and contact you rather than proceed unilaterally.
Performance Verification
Rate and amplitude are checked before any mechanical service is considered complete. Watches running outside a reasonable tolerance are adjusted further before release.
Responsive Communication
Enquiries and progress questions are responded to within one working day. You are never left without word on your watch's progress.
